Across the Ballot collects as little information as possible, and only what is needed to respond to you.
What is collected
The contact form asks for a name, an email address, and a message. Nothing else is requested. The form opens your own email application with the message pre-filled, so submissions are sent directly to Across the Ballot by email rather than stored in a website database.
How it is used
Messages are read by the editor of Across the Ballot and used only to respond to your question, process a correction, or update election information. Contact details are not sold, rented, traded, or shared with candidates, campaigns, political parties, or third parties.
Publication
Messages are not published. If you send information you would like published — for example a candidate response or a correction — Across the Ballot will confirm with you before publishing anything attributable to you.
Tracking
Across the Ballot does not run advertising and does not build voter profiles. The site does not ask visitors to create an account, and browsing the site does not require submitting any personal information. The site uses Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymous page-view statistics (such as which pages are visited and how visitors arrive) so we can understand how the site is used. This data is not used to identify individual visitors.
Retention and removal
Email correspondence is retained only as long as it is useful for accuracy and corrections. You may request that your correspondence be deleted by emailing the address below.
Children
This site is a general-audience civic education resource and does not knowingly solicit personal information from children.
