Across the Ballot is an independent student civic education project and is not affiliated with any candidate, campaign, political party, or government agency. The purpose of this website is to educate voters by presenting factual, balanced information. Opinions expressed by candidates are their own.
Candidate statements and campaign materials are identified as such. Across the Ballot does not endorse, rank, score, or recommend candidates.
Editorial rules
- Candidate positions are never invented.
- Interview responses are never fabricated.
- The meaning of a candidate's answer is never altered.
- Campaign-provided information is clearly labeled.
- Sources are clearly identified.
- All candidates receive equal visual treatment.
- Every candidate receives the same interview questions.
- Candidates are not ranked.
- Candidates are not scored.
- No candidate is recommended.
- No language is used suggesting Across the Ballot supports one candidate.
- Where information is unavailable, the site states “Information not provided” or “No response received.”
- If a candidate later responds, their profile and interview page are updated.
- An archive of previous updates is kept where appropriate.
- Factual errors are corrected transparently.
